http://www.nailsmag.com/news/91800/tech-tells-stories-of-heroic-women
here is my story in nails magazine this month. basically it is me saying that i am giving away my nail art for the most part (excluding big business) in order to gain fans, notoriety and a base of people who appreciate my hard work in exchange for them passing my name to girls who are creative and really want to learn something fun, have fun, be more self confident and learn a trade that will give them a better life for themselves...something they can always fall back on. in turn, i want to carve a path for my art....nails magazine totally has supported me throughout this...
please, go to this link
http://nailartgallery.nailsmag.com/robinmoses
become my 'fan' and when you do, it will help ensure new artists starting out will find me and learn nail art (even while in school!!!!!!, or it even is where schools GO to find art) so, it helps me SO MUCH if you fan me here.............if you guys stick these things everywhere and take 2 minutes to sign up (it doesnt even take an email validation) it really does help me get my nail art where i want it to go most of all.........
so i am sending out a prayer you guys see this and read it and do it right quick for me and i will be back on friday with some beautiful new stuff for you to learn :) please help pass this word out! if you can get me 100 subs...i will post a monday EXTRAVAGANZA...........I PROMISE. i will make monday..........so so so awesome. so please help me!
my love and respect
robin.

foil glue blurb
attn!!!! *laughing*
okay..we all know foil glue is the unicorn of nail art supplies. it is hard to find. yes. but, i need to clear something up. you dont paint your nails with it! hahahahahaahah its glue! it peels right off! please make sure your nails have 2-3 coats of polish on and its DRY, or gel, (i prefer acrylic) i LOVE acrylic, i am an avid user of acrylic...it keeps my nail art..acrylic is a base that all crafting can be done on without problems.....stones stick better, my portraits stay longer, the topcoat cracks less...for me, acrylic is a wonder for my nails to look and act SHARP......
if you paint a natural nail with glue..its gonna come off in a peel just like it did when you were little and you painted your nails with elmers (did everyone do that or just me?)..... foil glue is meant to craft foil on the prepared nail surface. all of your art and time and effort will be destroyed if you do it that way!!!!!
prepare the nail...do your art...topcoat the nail with a good topcoat...your art is sandwiched in between ----....the fake nail and polish/the art/ the topcoat.
the art is protected on BOTH sides.....it is sandwiched.....if you do not sandwich it, it will be LOST........i have answered this question many times....so hopefully this post will clear up the questions.
1. acrylic or gel (with polish/varnish)
2. art (paint, foil, glues, rhinestones, beads, shells, mylar,)
3. topcoat (clear varnish, sealant, protective clear covering)
i use pro finish uv GOLD topcoat by creative nail
for foil glue i use a crafting glue called 'the best glue ever' and i use another foil glue you can buy at dollarnailart.com in the foiling section called "foil art adhesive"
http://www.dollarnailart.com/cat_pages/foils.html
i like the best glue ever, but it is not a MUST..you can do just as good with the other and the other will ship worldwide....so, i hope this post helps...i will direct the questions i get about this to this page :) much love and remember
HAVE FUN PAINTING NAIL ART AND EXPERIMENT WITH DIFFERENT THINGS.....I DO ALL OF THE TIME.. i am constantly changing what i use and what i love....keeping my art fresh.....please dont be afraid to try new things and have fun making beautiful nails!!!!!

cleaning brushes
many have asked how to clean brushes and i want to put it up here how i clean mine.
i have menda dispensers: (google menda dispenser to see picture)
these dispensers distribute small amounts of liquid and keep chemicals from spilling and becoming a problem. when using acrylic paint, i use just a menda with water..i rinse off my brush and go to the next color
for harder jobs..i have s dispenser full of acetone (polish remover) i pump out enough liquid and wipe the brush over it and then wipe in a sweeping motion across a towel i have near my brush to clean it out completely. synthetic brushes begin to freak out after awhile when you clean them with acetone and can be reshaped by sweeping them over a bar of soap and making a new point with your fingertips and letting it dry overnight....you can rinse the soap out and your brush will have a new point on it.
for natural hair the same thing except you must condition natural hair brushes with oil every once in awhile if they get dried out (like hair) this keeps them pliable and nice.
now, i also have a very small menda dispenser with rubber cement thinner i clean out goopy messes i have had with glues (this is more for the hardcore professionals who work with chemicals and have a license) but i want to put it out there in case someone is doing it at home and might be harming themself and creating a dangerous environment.
chemicals must never be mixed or in hot places or around open flames. the menda containers keep them separated and safe from being spilled. after each time you clean your brush you must wash your towel.....chemicals in towels collect and become toxic. now, i am writing this because i once worked in a shop that was carefully monitored by state board.
every 6 weeks a state board member would monitor our shop, make sure we were all up to code etc....and one day, a flame came too close to a towel that was not clean and saturated in chemicals and all i heard was a "whoosh" and i looked up and the girl in front of me was on fire. her towels were not clean, they were one on top of the other and they were just saturated with many chemicals and there was a reaction.......state board cant monitor chemicals that are all invisible....it is up to YOU to keep yourself safe. it is up to YOU to keep your area clean. you must pick up good habits and keep your area clean and sanitized at all times for your safety and for the safety of others!!!!! and acetone and superglue and thinners and polish and everything are very dangerous when you have them in hot places or near flames (candles, cigarettes) .....you can seriously hurt yourself...the manicurist i worked with was SEVERELY burned and suffered tremendously and i was in a shop....so, if you are doing this at home, please be mindful of yourself and others.....you only get one life. be careful with it!
i am new to the ONLINE scene...i am new to what to say on camera and what to say in the description and i might leave things out or mis-communicate something i am trying to teach, but please..............always read my descriptions and learn what i am trying to teach and be very careful because i want you guys to have fun.
cleaning brushes is easy and a pain in the butt, but really...just soap and water....most of the time and acetone .................what is more important than cleaning your brush...is cleaning the area you cleaned your brush in after you have cleaned your brushes. be safe....i cant say this enough.
and always always watch my videos for updates for things i have forgotten or learn along the way...i want my channel to be a place to have fun and learn to make beautiful things.
love,
robin

ROBIN MOSES' ARTWORK ON CANVAS, NAILS MAGAZINE April, 2011 (and documented proof of licenses dating back to 1989)
my art made it into nails magazine. the article was so beautifully edited and wonderful to see.
http://www.nailsmag.com/news/91800/tech-tells-stories-of-heroic-women
of course, as soon as it shows, someone starts a vicious rumor about me trying to swindle all REAL NAIL TECHS WITH MY SWARTHY UNDERHANDED HORRIBLE SELF that i am!!!! hahahaah
so below are pictures to ensure you that i have been licensed forever and would never have the energy or the time to sit around and illegally make nail art videos so i can pass them off for real....when it only takes 500 hours (TOPS) to get a license....i have dedicated more hours to my videos than that in the last 4 months........however, the trolls troll, thats what they do.
here are pictures to "nip"<--hahah----- all gossip in the bud :)
